OJSC "HMS Pumps" (based in Livny, Russia) has developed a new pump design 1КсВ125-140-1 that features VIRIAL’s innovative slide bearings based on corrosion-resistant hardmetal composite grade. New design approach led to improved pump capacity, particularly for abrasive-containing medias. The experimental pumps are being currently tested at the cogeneration plant TEC-2 in Volgograd, Russia.
Preliminary control inspection of the pump revealed satisfactory state of the slide bearings: after 800 hrs of operation no significant wear of the work surfaces was discovered.
Based on the above results, OJSC "HMS Pumps" has decided to adopt similar bearing designs in the other standard sizes of the condensate pumps. VIRIAL engineers have already commenced the respective design development.
In 2010, following the request of OJSC "HMS Pumps", VIRIAL engineers have developed and supplied experimental slide bearing types for the new condensate pump design. Condensate pumps are used for transferring condensate or fresh water within water and steam circuits of the cogeneration plants operating on fossil fuels.
